| | | | Abstract: We have developed a numerical simulator called as the MEC model, which is utilized for the ocean environmental analysis of small-scale flow and diffusions around an artificial marine device to the meso-scale ocean phenomena near coastal seas. The source programs developed in this project are open to the public through the internet. Flow analysis around an artificial device is conducted by the three-dimensional approach in a small computational domain, while the hydrostatic approximation is used in the meso-scale domain as usual. Both approaches are nested to take the interactions between two domains. There are three kinds of the models in meso-scale anlaysis, the variable mesh model, the nested mesh model and the body fitted coordinate model. They are selected according to the geometry of the coastal sea. At the same time, we have developed preprocess applications to generate computational meshes for the MEC model and the postprocess applications for the visualization of the numerical results. All these applications are also opened through internet. Moreover, we provide the MEC online, a homepage which enable general users to use and experience the MEC model from the mesh generation to the visualization of final results. | | | |
